The pedestrian was identified as 50-year-old Sonny Ditomaso of Acworth. Next of kin has been notified.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision
The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is assisting the Acworth Police Department with investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in Precinct One on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 5:43 a.m. on Cobb Parkway at Acworth Summit Boulevard.
Per investigators, a silver Honda Odyssey was southbound on Cobb Parkway. The Honda collided with a pedestrian as it passed through the intersection at Acworth Summit Boulevard. The driver remained on scene.
The pedestrian was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital and was pronounced deceased. Next of kin has not been notified.
The driver of the Honda was identified as 46-year-old Jeremy Mills of Acworth.
Investigators do not expect for charges to be filed against Mr. Mills. The pedestrian was in or near a crosswalk, but was in the roadway while vehicular traffic had the right of way. The pedestrian was not easily visible due to darkness.
