The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Saturday, March 7th at 3:21 p.m. on Barrett Parkway at Rocky Ridge Road in Marietta.

According to investigators, 43-year-old John Franklin White (of Marietta) was operating a red 2016 BMW S1000 motorcycle northbound on Barrett Parkway approaching Rocky Ridge Road. A black Toyota Avalon, driven by 57-year-old Clintina Mitchell, was southbound on Barrett Parkway turning left onto Rocky Ridge Road. The motorcycle collided with the Toyota, and Mr. White was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Ms. Mitchell was not injured in the crash.
