Fatal Vehicle Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred in Precinct Five on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at 8:03 a.m. on Powder Springs Road near Green Drive.

Per investigators, a black 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 truck was northbound on Powder Springs Road in the left lane. A blue 1995 Toyota T100 truck was northbound on Powder Springs Road in the right lane, passing the 2015 Dodge. As the Toyota began to change lanes to the left, in front of the 2015 Dodge, the left rear bumper of the Toyota made contact with the right front bumper of the 2015 Dodge.

The Toyota began to rotate and crossed through the center turn lane into the southbound lanes of Powder Springs Road. The Toyota crossed in front of a southbound red 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 truck pulling a trailer. The front of the 1998 Dodge collided with the passenger side of the Toyota.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as 56-year-old Sobhi H. Terfas of Austell. He was transported to Kennestone Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Next of kin has been notified.

The driver of the 1998 Dodge was identified as 41-year-old Mario Perez Ramirez of Canton. He did not require medical attention at the scene. A 15-year-old juvenile in the rear seat of the Dodge was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the 2015 Dodge was identified as 36-year-old Alejandra N. Dorvil of Marietta. She did not require medical attention at the scene.
