Fatal Vehicle Collison
The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at 9:37 p.m. on Mableton Parkway near Hunnicutt Road in Precinct Two.
Per investigators, a black 2014 Nissan Altima was reported stolen in Precinct Two earlier this evening. Officers located the stolen vehicle near Shenandoah Trail in Austell. The Nissan fled southbound on Mableton Parkway and officers discontinued the pursuit.
The Nissan continued southbound on Mableton Parkway and entered the northbound lanes to pass another southbound vehicle. The Nissan collided head-on with a northbound grey Lexus RX350. A third vehicle, a black 2013 Infiniti M37, then collided with the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan was identified as a 16-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was seriously injured and transported to Grady Hospital.
The front seat passenger of the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has not been notified.
The driver of the Lexus was identified as 31-year-old Jimmy Quadri of Austell. He was transported to Wellstar Cobb Hospital with injuries that are not expected to be life threatening.
The driver of the Infiniti was identified as 36-year-old Fabian Johnson of Douglasville. He did not require medical attention at the scene.
