Serious Injury Collision (06/17/2019)
The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) is investigating a serious injury collision which occurred in Precinct One on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 4:51 p.m. on Cobb Place Boulevard at Barrett Lakes Boulevard.
A grey 2014 Jeep Wrangler was westbound on Cobb Place Boulevard approaching Barrett Lakes Boulevard. A green 2019 Toyota Rav4 was eastbound on Cobb Place Boulevard preparing to turn left onto Barrett Lakes Boulevard northbound. The Toyota turned left in front of the Jeep and the vehicles collided in the intersection.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as 20-year-old Katherine Doering of Kennesaw. She did not require medical attention at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as 23-year-old Rachel Thacker of Cartersville. She was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The right rear passenger in the Toyota was identified as 58-year-old Hubert Thacker of Cartersville. He was transported by ambulance to Kennestone Hospital for treatment of serious internal injuries.
