The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred in Precinct 5 on Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 3:54 p.m. on Due West Road near Antioch Road.

Per investigators, a 2009 Mazda 3 was traveling west on Due West Road. A Cobb County School bus was traveling east on Due West Road. The Mazda crossed over the double yellow line, striking the bus head-on. 

The driver of the Mazda was identified as 17-year-old Stephen Randall. He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The passenger of the Mazda was a 15-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was transported, by air, to Egleston Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the bus was identified as Robin Blackstone. She was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
