The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred in Precinct Two on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at 8:27 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Highway at Cooper Lake Road. 

A black 2015 Dodge Charger was travelling east on Veterans Memorial Highway passing Cooper Lake Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle as he was negotiating a right curve. The Dodge rotated in a counter clockwise direction as it left the northern edge of the roadway. The Dodge continued until colliding with a tree.

The driver was identified as 37-year-old David Howard of Atlanta. He was transported to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries.
