Serious Injury Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred in Precinct Two on Friday, December 6, 2019, at 8:43 a.m. on Hiram Lithia Springs Road, south of Brownsville Road.

A silver 2007 Ford Escape was traveling south on Hiram Lithia Springs Road, south of Brownsville Road. The Escape failed to maintain its lane and struck the western concrete curb at the intersection with the private drive to 4630 Hiram Lithia Springs Road. The driver corrected the path of travel to the left and then back to the right. The vehicle began rotating, left the edge of the roadway, and began to roll. While the Escape was rolling, it struck a sign and an unoccupied parked vehicle in the parking lot of 4640 Hiram Lithia Springs Road.

The driver of the Escape was identified as 31-year-old Kayla Chenee Delay of Powder Springs. Ms. Delay is eight months pregnant. She was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries and for concern for the health of her unborn child.
