The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury traffic collision that occurred at 6317 James Road on Monday, August 3, 2020, at 11:57 p.m. 

According to investigators, a female was acting erratically at 6317 James Road and laid down in the driveway. A silver 2017 Chevrolet Malibu entered the driveway and collided with the female.

The female, 20-year-old Platinum Ann Young of Austell, was trapped underneath the vehicle and, once released, transported to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of the Chevrolet Malibu, 23-year-old Julian A. Smith of Atlanta, was not injured.
