Serious Injury Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred in Precinct One on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at 4:33 p.m. on Bells Ferry Road near Adair Drive.

Per investigators, a CCT bus was stopped at the bus stop on the southbound side of Bells Ferry Road, north of Adair Drive. A gold 2016 Subaru Outback stopped behind the bus. A black 2014 Ford Mustang was southbound, approaching the Subaru. The Ford swerved to the left and clipped the left rear of the Subaru. The Ford then continued into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a black 2009 Toyota Camry. The Toyota was traveling north on Bells Ferry Road. The Toyota was redirected to the right, where it travelled across the sidewalk and down a grade, into the parking lot of 1480 Bells Ferry Road.

The driver of the Subaru was identified as 61-year-old Lisa McNeel of White, Georgia. She did not require emergency medical attention at the scene.

The driver of the Ford was identified as 18-year-old Kerry Williams of Marietta. He was transported to Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was identified as 19-year-old Tate Johnson of Marietta. He was transported to Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
