Serious Injury Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred in Precinct Three on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at 3:08 a.m. on Old Concord Road north of Pat Mell Road.
A white 1995 Chevrolet Astro was traveling northbound on Old Concord Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, exited the right side of the roadway, and collided with a utility pole. The two occupants in the vehicle were not restrained by seat belts.
The driver was identified as 32-year-old Eligardo Perez of Smyrna. He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The passenger was identified as 29-year-old Manual Lopez-Martinez of Smyrna. He was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Per investigators, alcohol is a contributing factor to this collision and criminal charges are expected.
