Serious Injury Collision

The Cobb County Police Department's Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury collision that occurred on East-West Connector east of Concord Road on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 7:21 a.m. 

According to investigators, a gold 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling west on East-West Connector approaching Concord Road. The driver lost control of the vehicle, crossed through the center median and both eastbound lanes before colliding with trees on the southern shoulder. The vehicle was then redirected back out into the eastbound lanes.

The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, 27-year-old Grant Connors of Smyrna, was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger, a 4-year-old male, was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite Hospital with minor injuries.
