Serious Injury Pedestrian Collision

The Cobb County Police Department Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a serious injury pedestrian collision that occurred in Precinct Four on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at 6:53 a.m. at the entrance of Sedona Falls apartment complex, 1717 Waterfall Village Drive.

Per investigators, a pedestrian was walking west on the northern sidewalk of Terrell Mill Road. The pedestrian was crossing the entrance to the apartment complex in a crosswalk. A blue 2016 Mack MRU600 garbage truck, owned by American Disposal Services, was traveling east on Terrell Mill Road. The Mack truck made a left turn into the apartment complex and collided with the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The pedestrian was identified as 35-year-old Diana A. Ramone of Marietta. She was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the Mack was identified as 45-year-old Charles L. Strong of Lithia Springs. He was not injured.
