The Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit is investigating a single vehicle traffic collision that occurred on April 8, 2019 at 12:03 a.m. on Oak Lane near Wyeth Walk.

Per investigators, a white 2009 Mazda RX8 operated by 27-year-old Evan Jones of Marietta was traveling eastbound on Oak Lane. As the Mazda was attempting to navigate a curve, it exited the roadway and the front of the vehicle struck a tree.

Evan Jones was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in critical but stable condition. Alcohol and excessive speed are suspected to be contributing factors for this collision.
