Legal and departmental requirements govern the return of property. You may call us at 770-499-4128 for information about the item you wish to pick up. This will allow the Evidence Unit to process your request and will eliminate delays. Positive photo identification (Drivers License or State Issued ID) will be required for the release of property.
Except for firearms, the owner of the property may designate another person to pick up the property. This will require a signed and notarized affidavit from the owner of the property. The affidavit must be specific as to what property may be obtained on your behalf and the name of the person to whom the property may be released.
Property Types

Found Property consists of items found and the owner is generally not known. Found property will be held for 90 days from the date it was received. After 90 days the property will be disposed of pursuant to State Law.
