Accreditations
The Cobb County E911 Training Division received the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO) P33 Training Program Certification in August of this year. The APCO P33 Training Program Certification is a recognition program for public safety communications training programs across the nation. The program requires agencies to meet or exceed the APCO Minimum Training Standards for Public Safety Telecommunications.
Cobb County E911 is accredited by CALEA. This accreditation program allows stand-alone communications centers or communications units within other public safety organizations such as law enforcement, fire, or EMS agencies to voluntarily participate in a credentialing program that promotes public safety communications services and recognizes professional excellence. The program standards cover seven topic areas: (1) organization; (2) direction and supervision; (3) human resources; (4) recruitment, selection, and promotion; (5) training; (6) operations; and (7) critical incidents, special operations, and homeland security.
