After 2 years, Cobb's Emergency Rental Assistance program closes
March 7, 2023 - After working with a half-dozen partner organizations over the past two years, Cobb County’s Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) program has exhausted funding. The program has now closed.
Cobb’s ERA program helped thousands by pumping $54.8 million of federal assistance into the county, working to help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic pay rent and utility bills. The implementation of the program, partnering with nonprofits and Cobb’s Magistrate Court, became a model lauded nationwide. The integration into the Magistrate Court’s operations helped many avoid eviction.
More rental assistance funds will be allocated as part of Cobb’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocations. Those in need should monitor the web page at www.cobbcounty.org/ARPA for details when that funding becomes available.
