Cobb Appoints New Fire Chief
The Board of Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint William T. Johnson to lead Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.
Johnson has served more than 26 years at the fire department in which he has distinguished himself with his leadership and management skills. He is well-versed in the operations of the Fire Department having served in various roles throughout his career. During his employment with Cobb County, he has advanced through the ranks from Firefighter to his more recent appointment as one of three Deputy Fire Chiefs since 2016.
Johnson holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia Southern University in fire science. He is a University of Georgia, Carl Vinson Institute of Government EXCEL graduate. Additionally, he is a 2019 graduate of Leadership Cobb.
