Update on Cobb's storm-damaged facilities
Crews are still working to repair three Cobb facilities damaged by burst pipes during the recent Christmas cold wave. Repair work will continue on two Senior Services facilities and a library branch that suffered water damage.
The West Cobb Senior Center (4915 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs) will reopen for activities on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Part of the building will remain closed. Still, activities, including those in the billiards room, will be open.
The C. Freeman Poole Senior Center (4025 S Hurt Road SW, Smyrna) will remain closed until further notice. Any remaining winter quarter classes will be canceled.
The Vinings Library Branch (4290 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta) will remain closed until further notice. Reserved items placed for pickup at the library will be moved to Lewis A. Ray Library (4500 Oakdale Road, Smyrna), until the Vinings Library reopens. For information, visit cobbcat.org.
