Cobb Solicitor General Makia Metzger and her public safety advocates team had a fun day on the Silver Comet Trail with members of the Kiwanis Club of Greater South Cobb for the fourth annual Cycle-Run-Walk Challenge kickoff on  Saturday, June 1, 2024! This year the was dedicated to building awareness about the importance of literacy.

Some children were already struggling, and COVID-19 took an even greater toll on students in underserved communities. Statistics show below average percentages of reading proficiency among Black, Latino and disabled fourth-graders.
