Office of Solicitor General Hosts Sneaker Ball For LiveSafe Resources
The Cobb Solicitor General’s first Sneaker Ball, hosted by Makia Metzger, took place on October 25, 2024, in Marietta, Georgia. This event served as a fundraiser to support LiveSafe Resources, a nonprofit focused on aiding survivors of domestic violence. Keynote speaker April Ross, Executive Director of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence, shared her personal story and highlighted the critical need for funding to assist families fleeing violence.
The Sneaker Ball brought together many community and elected leaders who participated in sponsorships or attendance, including Chairwoman Lisa Cupid, Commissioner Monique Sheffield, Sheriff Craig Owens, Rep. David Wilkerson, Senator “Doc” Rhett and Senator Jason Esteves. The event underscored the community’s shared responsibility to support individuals impacted by domestic violence, emphasizing that safety and shelter are essential, bipartisan needs.
All proceeds raised at the event will benefit LiveSafe Resources, bolstering their mission to provide safety, shelter, and support for survivors across Cobb County.
