The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Gritters Library is scheduled for Thursday, November 14 at 2 pm.

The public is invited to attend the special event sponsored by the Cobb Library Foundation and hosted by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners, Cobb County Manager, Cobb County Public Library Board of Trustees, Cobb County Workforce Development, and Cobb PARKS.

The new Gritters Library replaces the former Gritters facility which opened in 1973. The library is located at 880 Shaw Park Road, Marietta 30066, off Canton Road, one mile north of the Piedmont Road intersection.

The library is designed to serve as a focal point for a growing, diverse community. Gritters will focus on promoting literacy and education, workforce development, civic engagement, and health and wellness, Cobb County Public Library officials said. Gritters, which is adjacent to Shaw Park, serves a community of about 65,000 people within a three-mile radius.

Gritters Library will be open to the public starting 10 am Wednesday, November 6.
