Join Georgia Reads Day Celebration with Cobb Library
Get Ready to Read! It's September and Cobb County Public Library is thrilled to participate in the statewide Georgia Reads campaign, a collaborative initiative under the Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS). This annual event aims to foster a love of reading and promote literacy throughout our communities.
What's Happening?
Facebook Contest: Adults, teens, and children – Show off your creativity and love of reading by entering our contest! We will add three prompts on Facebook on Monday, September 16. For each prompt, submit your entry in the comments. Share with your friends and family because the entry with the most likes on Sunday, September 29 wins!
The contest runs from Monday, September 16th to Sunday, September 29th. Winners will be announced on Georgia Reads Day, September 30th, and will receive a special Reading Bundle!
Staff Reading Photos: Our librarians will be sharing their favorite books and cozy reading spots on Georgia Reads Day. This gives you an opportunity to find book recommendations!
Join the fun and share your own reading photos on social media using #GeorgiaReadsCobb and tag us. Feel free to even showcase yourself reading an excerpt from your favorite book!
The Importance of Reading
Reading is a powerful tool that opens up a world of possibilities. It helps us learn, grow, and connect with others. By participating in Georgia Reads, we're investing in the future of our community.
Join Us in the Celebration
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the power of reading. Visit your local Cobb Library branch to discover a world of books and participate in our Georgia Reads activities. Let's come together as a community and embrace the transformative power of literacy.
The Georgia Council on Literacy is excited to partner with Georgia Reads Coach Malcolm Mitchell and the Share the Magic Foundation on Georgia Reads Day. Join Malcolm Mitchell and the Share the Magic Foundation for a Reading Rally at the College Football Hall of Fame. In attendance: 300 second-grade students from Atlanta Public Schools.
