Cobb leaders make annual presentation to NY-based rating agencies

Cobb County leaders wrapped up two days of meetings with New York City-based rating agencies. Cobb is one of a handful of counties nationwide that has maintained a triple AAA rating for 25 consecutive years. This high rating allows the county to borrow money at lower rates, saving taxpayers money (necessary to bridge the fiscal year to end-of-year tax collections).

"We had a positive visit with the rating agencies to share our accomplishments over the past fiscal year and plans for the next," said Chairwoman Lisa Cupid.
The Cobb group met with representatives of Fitch, Moody's, and S&P.
On the trip was Buddy Tesar, Assistant Finance Director, Chairwoman Cupid, County Manager Dr. Jackie McMorris, and Chief Financial Officer Bill Volckmann.
