โ˜… Meet up for adults with special needs and their caregivers, every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in November, December and January the North Cobb Regional Library for activities similar to a traditional story time. The group loves to read books together, go on scavenger hunts, enjoy many types of games, sing karaoke, create crafts, and more.  No meet up 11/28 or 12/26.  ๐Ÿ“ 3535 Old 41 Highway, Kennesaw.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER  23

Tree Jubilee & Mable House Lights the Night, 4 - 8 p.m. at 5239 Floyd Road, Mableton - The tree lighting event kicks off 12 days of festivities.

  • Grand tree lighting at 7:30 p.m.
  • Dazzling holiday lights and candy cane forest
  • Adorned trees and wreaths for sale (fundraiser)
  • Ornament making
  • Live entertainment
  • The guy in red
  • Hot cocoa and snacks
  • Hands-on engaging activities

12 days of holiday programs including a delightful high tea experience, an intriguing interactive program, What the Dickens?! A Mystery at the Historic Mable House, and an array of hands-on artmaking and craft workshops.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25

Adult Red Ball Tennis Program - Free tennis class for absolute beginners. Fun, engaging, low-pressure environment to learn and improve. Receive a free racquet. For adults 18 and older.  Sessions to choose from:

  • Monday, Nov. 25 11 a.m. - noon
  • Monday, Dec. 2, 10 - 11 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 10, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
  • Thursday, Dec. 12, 11 a.m. - noon
  • Friday, Dec. 13, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 30

Make a ceramic print of your child's hand 10 a.m. - noon (drop in any time) for ages 0 - 18 at The Art Place - Mountain View Arts Center. Little hands (or big ones) will be pressed into clay slabs. Cut them out to use as ornaments or hang as a plaque. Adult supervision required.  Register  here  (code #42193).

 

Small Business Saturday - Support your favorite local small shops and restaurants on Nov. 30. And when you use an American Express credit card, $1 from every purchase at participating businesses will go to hurricane Milton relief. Find participating local small businesses here.

THANKSGIVING ๐Ÿฆƒ

  • ๐Ÿ‘ŸThe annual Acworth Turkey ๐ŸฆƒChase 5K Fun Run and 2K Walk Saturday, Nov. 23. Proceeds will benefit the Tackle Hunger program.
  • Cookie Decorating: Thanksgiving  Turkeys at the Mable House Arts Center Nov 25.

Giving Tuesday  is Dec. 3

For every act of kindness a person does, they can potentially affect someone three or more degrees removed from them. Imagine that next time you do a small, good thing for someone.
