Saturday’s Household Hazardous Waste event at Jim R. Miller Park received an overwhelming response from residents, so much so that many could not get into the park to drop off their materials before the event reached capacity.  Many residents told us these hazardous materials built up at their homes during the pandemic, and they were eager to drop them off so they could be disposed of responsibly. 

People arrived as early as 6 a.m. to wait in line, and even though the volunteers worked as fast as possible, the lines grew throughout the morning. 

Because of the surprising turnout, Keep Cobb Beautiful will work with Cobb’s Board of Commissioners and county leadership to increase the frequency of these events to meet demand.  We apologize to those who wanted to participate but could not enter the park.
