Cobb County Launches New Website to Help Residents Access Assistance Programs
Marietta, GA (Sept. 19, 2024)—Cobb County has partnered with FindHelp to create a new online resource that connects residents with assistance programs—FindHelp carefully vets organizations to ensure their services are current and available.
Residents can access this new portal by visiting findhelp.cobbcounty.gov.
"We are so thrilled that Cobb County is joining many other local and state agencies as part of the Find Help social network," said Irene Barton, Executive Director of the Cobb Collaborative. "Over 2/3 of reports to DFCS of suspected child maltreatment each year are connected to neglect - parents and caregivers working to meet basic physical needs of their families like housing, food, medical care, and educational supports. A resource like Find Help helps connect those seeking support with programs and services to match their needs, helping build strong families and thriving communities."
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased demand for food assistance, housing support, mental and medical health care, job training, and more. In response, Cobb County’s Board of Commissioners allocated federal pandemic relief funds to support programs using the Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) and Coronavirus Rescue Act (CARES) programs.
However, after those funds were exhausted, the need for assistance remained.
Cobb County’s partnership with FindHelp will connect residents to location-based programs. The initiative is funded through an allocation of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
