Modifications to CobbLinc Bus Service Help Keep Passengers Safe
Image
As we have continued to monitor ridership, CobbLinc staff implemented the following modifications to bus service:
- The Circulator Blue and Circulator Green are combined into one route and run on a Sunday schedule seven days a week. (see attached map and schedule)
- Boarding on buses is restricted to 10 passengers in order to promote social distancing while still providing essential trips for people who need transit. Once a bus reaches its 10-passenger capacity, drivers should alert dispatch that no additional passengers can board. CobbLinc have sweeper buses strategically staged to pick up passengers who may be passed-by or unable to board a bus that is at the 10-passenger capacity.
- To balance loads and facilitate social distancing of passengers, Rapid 10 buses with fewer than 10 passengers will stop at all Route 10 stops.
- CobbLinc staff is working with a company to setup audio announcements on buses and scrolling messaging on internal bus signs. Messaging will state that CobbLinc recommends passengers wear a face covering while traveling to protect themselves and others, practice social distancing by leaving a seat between passengers and the next rider, and take only essential trips.
