September was a pretty good month for criminal activity in Precinct Four. We saw a reduction in Residential Burglaries, Business Burglaries, and Entering Autos. However, these incidents are still occurring. The uniformed officers and detectives still have been very busy proactively fighting crime. In September, there were 154 arrests total in Precinct Four. Five of those arrests were for Aggravated Assault, 16 DUI arrests, 36 Wanted Persons were located and arrested, and 35 arrests for Violation of Georgia’s Controlled Substance Act. These officers are doing a great job and we appreciate all the community’s support.

If there are any suspicious persons witnessed call the 911 Emergency Line to report it. This allows an officer to respond in a timely manner and check on the situation. Reporting suspicious vehicles on social media is becoming a common occurrence, but many go unreported to police. Please do not hesitate to contact 911 if you see something suspicious in your neighborhood. It is rare a police officer coincidentally rolls up on a crime in progress. Generally, the only time this occurs is because of a tip from a concerned citizen who called 911 and got an officer dispatched.

Burglary Prevention

• Lock your doors, including the one from the garage
• Keep garage doors closed-check before bed every night
• Motion sensor activated lighting
• Surveillance cameras
• Entering Auto Prevention
• Lock your vehicles and remove items of value and items that appear to contain valuables.
• If you can’t keep them with you, secure your valuables in the trunk before reaching your location.
• Keep your vehicle locked and your purse or wallet on your person while fueling at the gas station.
• Remember to CALL 911 to report any suspicious persons or activity. If you see something, say something!
