Carlos Vilela currently serves as a Hearing Officer for the Probate Court of Cobb County. Prior to his service with the Probate Court, he served as an Assistant County Counsel in the Fulton County Attorney’s Office, where his portfolio included work on court administration matters.
Prior to his time in Fulton County, he served as a Senior Staff Attorney to the Honorable Jane P. Manning in the State Court of Cobb County. Mr. Vilela began his legal career working with a local firm which specialized in estate planning and small business dispute resolution.
Mr. Vilela has extensive knowledge in matters involving the civil practice act, complex discovery disputes, and election and campaign finance law. He currently serves on the State Bar of Georgia’s Professionalism Committee as its vice chair and is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association. Mr. Vilela is a graduate of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and Georgia State University.
