Cobb County Senior Services can help with financial assistance for in-home respite care. The goal of the Respite Care program is to provide temporary relief to caregivers who are caring for loved ones diagnosed with:

• Alzheimer’s disease or other neurological conditions
• Physical or intellectual disabilities
• Require assistance with at least 3 activities of daily living

Services are provided in the home by a pre-approved vendor. Services may include: companionship, supervision, light housekeeping, and personal care assistance.

Eligibility Requirements

• Cobb County resident
• The caregiver must be 18+ and the care-receiver 60+ years of age
• Must NOT be receiving services from private pay agencies, Medicaid, veteran programs, private pay agencies/individuals etc.
• Cost determined by a sliding scale based on federal poverty scale

A home visit is required to complete a needs based assessment to determine eligibility. There is a sliding scale fee for the service based on the household income (employment, self employed, social security benefits, pension, retirement, TANF, etc….).
