(Marietta, GA - July 6, 2016) The five-member Cobb County Board of Commissioners have formally requested that county staff review and make changes to the Accessory Special Event Parking ordinance to ensure that the language reflects the original intent of public safety and does not produce unintended consequences for private property owners and citizens. The original ordinance passed unanimously in the February 23 BOC meeting.
The revised ordinance will be publicly advertised and posted online at the Cobb County home page on Friday, July 15. The changes will be considered by the Board of Commissioners at public hearings at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 26; 9 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 9 and 7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23. The Board of Commissioners can consider approving amendments to the Accessory Special Event Parking ordinance after the public hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
