County recycling event makes it convenient to care

Keep Cobb Beautiful will celebrate America Recycles Day by providing residents a one-stop Community Recycling Center 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 10, at Jim Miller Park. Materials that will be collected include electronics, paper, textiles, latex paint and appliances.

Event activities include:

Electronic Recycling
(provided by Advanced Disposal Services)
Electronics accepted at no charge.
$10 processing fee for televisions (cash only)

Document Shredding
(provided by Iron Mountain)
Free, secure, on-site
Only paper products, no CDs, floppy disks, cardboard or large binders with metal rings or clips
Textile Collection
(provided by USAgain)
Shoes, clothing and other textiles.

Latex Paint Recycling/Disposal
(provided by Advanced Disposal Services)
$4 per gallon fee (cash only).
Paint must be in original, clearly-labeled, non-leaking container and cannot be mixed with anything, including other paint.
No oil or alkyd paint.

"Appliance Amnesty" will also take place 7 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Cobb County Transfer Station, 1897 County Services Parkway, Marietta. Recycling appliances with Freon/refrigerant will be only $5, instead of the normal $12. For more information, call 770-528-1135 or visit KCB Home Page.
