Monday

Creative Pottery Hand Building #3645

In this creative pottery class, you will be responsible for maintaining, rolling and wedging your clay. You will need to bring in your own hand building project ideas you would like to work on during this 6-week session. Your instructor will assist in guiding you in the projects you select. Wear clothing you will not mind getting slightly dirty.

Foundations of Pottery Hand Building #3646

Learn how to create your slab-built clay projects!  Learn the basics of working with clay and various basic glazing techniques. During this session, you will create a textured platter and matching vase, and spring inspired soap dishes. Wear clothing you do not mind getting slightly dirty, and join us for some creative fun.

MOVE #3650

MOVE is a combination class of functional movements for the beginner exerciser, as well as the regularly active adult. It incorporates gentle barre and dance movements for core stability and balance; a simple yoga flow for restoration, flexibility and mobility; and breathing techniques for centering and stress relief. What separates this class from a standard fitness class is the combination of fall prevention methods, breathing techniques and the use of music to promote a centered, motivating, and emotionally uplifting environment.

Tai Chi-Qigong #3656

Tai Chi emphasizes complete relaxation, and is essentially a form of “meditation in motion”. Qigong (pronounced “chee-gung”) is the Chinese philosophy and practice of aligning breath, physical activity and awareness, for improved mental and physical health and increased energy. This class is great for joints, stretching, flexibility, and movement. Suitable for all fitness levels.

World Dance and Movement #3658

Unique blend of body movement, dynamic percussive rhythms and breathing techniques will stimulate a state of mind that promotes mental clarity, physical stamina and general wellbeing. The first 15 minutes of class is instruction for simple and powerful exercises to create a feeling of well-being in the body and the energy to move and dance for the next half hour.  There will be a set of cool down exercises at the end to make you feel alive, centered and happy!

Beginner Yoga #3654

Beginner yoga is appropriate for those who want a softer, slow-paced and relaxing practice. The approach includes carefully orchestrated movements, controlled pressure, and well-measured stretches, including range of motion exercises. Postures are approached in gradual steps, with plenty of time to focus on breathing and repetition so that the practice is simple to do and easy to remember. A gentle yoga style encourages a highly individualized approach to practice; meeting yoga students “where they are.” All fitness levels welcome. Please bring yoga mat to class.

Mixed Media Art opens a world of creativity for people who like to use various mediums. The beauty of this art form is the flexibility to start with simple and easily found items and expand from there.  Three home décor projects will be created using wood, canvas, paper, fabric and paint.

Pull out your gym mat and get ready to do a series of movements that will stabilize and strengthen your body’s core. The moves may appear simple, but take precision and control. There is a strong emphasis on technique. Pilates helps one to be stronger, develop muscle tone and gain flexibility. You may also develop better posture and a better sense of well-being.  All fitness levels welcome.  Please bring exercise mat to class.

Glass Fusion #3660

Glass fusing is the technique used to join glass pieces together by partly melting multiple pieces of glass at high temperature.  The art of fusing different glasses together can be used to create sculptures, jewelry, dishware, and other beautiful pieces. During this class, students will learn the techniques for selecting and cutting glass and how to design glass pieces. Four projects will be completed. All skill levels welcome.

Strong Seniors: Total Body Conditioning #3670

Total body conditioning class offers exercises for the upper and lower body designed to increase muscular strength, balance and range of movement transitions.  Resistance bands, exercise balls and weights will be used to safely perform a variety of seated and standing choreography for effective muscular strength and endurance. Get fit and have fun to energetic music!  Resistance bands and exercise balls provided; participants must provide their own weights.  Recommended for all fitness levels.

Zumba Gold #3644

Zumba combines Latin rhythms with cardiovascular exercise to create a low impact aerobic routine that is fun and easy to follow. No previous experience required. The intensity of the moves can be modified to accommodate new students and those with previous experience.

Painting with Acrylics #3648

Discover the excitement of painting freely while learning acrylic technique tips along the way. This class is an excellent opportunity to be creative. Several acrylic paintings will be completed depending on individual speed and level of detail.  A demo will be performed at each session, and individual guidance offered as you progress with your artwork. This is a good opportunity for returning artists to further develop their personal style, improve color, and design skills.  No previous experience necessary.

TLC Cardio Fusion #3649

Cardio Fusion is a fun filled, aerobic workout that will raise your heartbeat, to improve your cardiovascular endurance, and your mood. The formats included are dance and kickboxing techniques.  We use easy to follow choreography performed to popular music making this class excellent for every level of exerciser.

Low Impact Aerobics #3655

Low-impact aerobic exercise minimizes the force on your bones and joints, unlike high-impact aerobics, which commonly involves vigorous jumping, shuffling and bouncing motions. Low impact reduces your risk of injuries and makes this type of exercise ideal for beginners or seniors.  Low impact shouldn't be confused with low intensity; low-impact activity can still significantly raise heart rate and benefit cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Get a good work out while protecting bones and joints! Please bring a small towel to class.

Intermediate Yoga #3653

Take your yoga practice to the next level. This flow-based class will help bring greater flexibility, strength, and sense of connection to the body. Class will begin with breathing and meditation techniques and move into an exploration into what the body is capable of today. Modifications are provided, however this class is best suited for those with previous yoga experience. Your body and mind will feel restored and renewed! Please bring your yoga mat to class. 

Acoustic Guitar 101 #3661

Learn the basics of playing acoustic guitar in a casual setting. Topics covered include how to tune your instrument, basic chords and strumming techniques. You should be able to play a simple piece by the end of the session. Supply list available at front desk.
