Public Information Open House: Kennesaw Mountain Pedestrian Improvements

The Cobb County Department of Transportation and City of Marietta Public Works Department will host a public information open house on three proposed Kennesaw Mountain pedestrian trails Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Marietta High School (1171 Whitlock Avenue NW, Marietta, GA 30064). Citizens are invited to learn more about the project, ask questions and provide comments. A court reporter will be available to record verbal comments. There will be no formal presentation.

A collaboration between Cobb County, the City of Marietta, the National Park Service, and the Georgia Department of Transportation, the proposed project would include construction of three, 8-foot-wide to 10-foot-wide multi-use trails on Burnt Hickory Road, Cheatham Hill Road and Whitlock Avenue. The total project length would be approximately 3.85 miles, including 1.69 miles would be located within the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.

Written statements will be accepted until Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, and should be submitted to:
