Cobb PARKS, along with Cobb County Public Safety and Safe Kids Cobb County, are hosting the 19th Annual Fall Festival of Fun on Wednesday, October 31st at Jim Miller Park. The event will begin at 4:30pm and end at 7:30pm. This event will provide the children of Cobb County a safe alternative to the traditional Trick-or-Treat in their neighborhoods.
The festival will include arts and crafts, games, inflatable rides, police and fire activities, costume dance contests for kids and adults, coloring contests, a photo booth and other surprises. Parking, entrance to the park, games, candy and contests are free (there is a fee for concessions and inflatable rides). Come wearing your Halloween costume and be sure to bring a bag to carry all of your candy!
Cobb County’s newest state-of-the-art facility, the Jim R. Miller Park Event Center, is now open for business! It is the largest structure funded by the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax at 41,000 square feet. This includes 25,000 square feet of rentable exhibit and event space. This space can be equally divided into three sections to cater to any event needs. The facility is an excellent option for events like:
• Weddings, receptions, quinceañeras and reunions • Corporate meetings and training or seminars • Civic meetings and church socials • Banquets • Trade shows • Concerts and dances • Festivals and expos
A meeting room and kitchen facilities are also available. The event space can be combined with outdoor spaces for large events such as festivals and expos. Click here to see the floor plan for the building. If you come to the North Georgia State Fair in September, you will have an opportunity to see the facility in person.
Staff is currently booking reservations for 2019. For more information, call the facility manager, Cara Lynn, at (770) 528-8875.
As you are out enjoying Cobb County parks and activities, be sure to bring your camera and capture the fun and memories of your sports activities, the beauty of nature and wildlife in the parks and anything else that shows why you enjoy your day at the park. The 14th Annual "Fun in the Park' Photo Contest will be accepting entries throughout the summer. Enter up to 10 of your best shots for fun and awards. Open to all photographers. See rules and download the entry form on the photo contest webpage.
